Did you know AVAYA and NORTEL have merged? AVAYA being the dominant player. The FYI is that CICS and MICS (0X32) platforms are manufacture discontinued as of this month. The good news is that there are lots these systems out there so parts supply will be good for the foreseeable future. The NORTEL BCM will continue to be supported for the next 6 years, with one more software revision expected. The T7316E sets work on both the Nortel BCM and CICS/MICS platforms so expect a supply channel to remain for these. This is important because there are hundreds of thousands of small businesses all over the world using these NORTEL systems. The big NORTEL Meridian Option PBX enterprises switches are being retired but this is no surprise because AVAYA's biggest moneymaker is their DEFINITY and OneX enterprise (big biz and big gov.) systems.
(NORTEL is known for its very durable and long lasting products. Lets hope some of this Canadian northern backwoods rugged build transfers over to AVAYA products as well!)
This is great news to know that Nortel and Avaya have merged. Nortel and Avaya are known for its very durable and long lasting products. This phone system is compatible with a large number of mobile devices as well.
